Jewelry terminology can be very challenging and confusing to say the least. For that same reason, I created a wikiBEADia on my site to help you better understand what you are investing in. Check it out and let me know what you think! It also has such an awesome necklace chart to help you see where your necklace will roughly fall!

Although I don't have a brand new creation today, I do have this collection of colorblocked earrings to share with you. Which one is your favorite?
Do you have what it takes to layer it up?
Although some magazines and trend reports say the thinner the better in jewelry featuring very thin cross necklaces and skinny bracelets, they follow it up by saying, "layer it up". Whether you choose to wear a single chunky piece or a bunch of thin ones to reflect the same look, you can't go wrong. Here are some of my pieces that are layer perfect.
Wear alone or with a plain gold chain (short or long) to add some chunk
Combine with silver or dark grey/gunmetal chains. You might just be seeing this color a lot in Fall 2013. Just saying :o)
Combine any of these with your favorite watch, bangle or chain bracelet!
A fun day in NYC
One thing I love about living in NJ is being so close to the one and only NYC! Today I spent the whole day walking from one bead heaven to the next in the fashion district to hand pick some more new, exciting and unique components for your favorite jewelry.

Today you get to meet Alana. An asymmetrical turquoise addition that is inspired by my Egyptian heritage when it comes to its colors. Perfect to layer with a short/long silver or gold chain if you want to add more chunk to your look. What do you think?
Jewelry Tip - Storage
Did you know the best way to store your jewelry is in a zip baggie/air tight container? Many of my customers ask how they can prevent their favorite pieces from tarnishing and were surprised with my answer. Even the most prestigious precious jewelry brands store it that way. Exposure to air and all the chemicals within it is what causes the change in color and it can turn reddish or greenish color depending on the original metal. That is why I love using semi precious material like gold filled and silver filled because It is not easily effected by this like other costume jewelry. That is also why each one of your ordered pieces is packed individually in a tight zip bag. Now you know why I do what I do :-)
